Read the city in layers.
San Clemente offers an unusually clear way to understand how successive buildings occupy the same ground.
The journey begins with the relationship between the present basilica and the archaeological levels below it. Depending on opening conditions and your interests, the route may also connect another church or archaeological site where earlier urban fabric survives within a later building.
This is a private, guide-led experience rather than a guaranteed multi-site ticket. We confirm each site’s availability, visitor rules and timing before finalising the route.
A focused archaeological narrative
Your guide explains the visible relationships between building phases, levels and later reuse, so the visit has a clear historical thread rather than a list of underground stops.
Flexible route, confirmed access
San Clemente and any additional place are included only when official access is available for your chosen date. If a site cannot be visited, the proposal will say so before you decide.
From €800 per private group for an approximately three-hour guided experience.
Admission tickets and any special-access charges are quoted separately. The Basilica’s visitor information governs opening and excavation access; we reconfirm the current conditions before booking.
